As a key member within the development team, you will be involved in the development and management of a wide range of systems used in the delivery of ISP services to customers, as well as critical development of internal systems used everyday for the running of the business.
You will need solid knowledge of Perl and MySQL; exposure to a Linux/LAMP development environment is essential.
The key skills to be considered suitable for this role are as follows:
- Apache & Bind
Candidates from a ISP background used to working on servers on VMware/SAN Storage platforms in high-speed datacentre environments would be a distinct advantage.

Ethernet Networks, ISP services, Firewall administration, Cisco routing, hosting hardware and software

We supply leased lines and WAN networking solutions to companies throughout Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton, Leeds and soon into Birmingham. We are unique in the market as being the only profitable operator using wireless and microwave to provide last-mile connectivity to customers.
We are growing at 50% per year and have been profitable for the past 3 years. Our success has been due to our ability to deliver services much faster than larger established suppliers and with a very high level of customer service into a market notorious for poor service.
We are looking for a telesales executive to identify and make appointments with potential customers in our coverage areas. We are looking for individuals who have intellectual ability and attitude (persistence) to consistently uncover opportunities for Metronet.
Previous telesales or sales experience is not a pre-requisite for this position. Compensation is generous but heavily weighted to commission based on revenue.
